In emergency situations, the World Food Programme (WFP) is often on the front line, supporting governments in coordination with thousands of NGOs and international institutions.
With the help of Stop Hunger and Sodexo experts, WFP has created a unique and secure food voucher, providing vulnerable people with access to diversified local food rather than imported food rations and in places difficult to access.
Printed locally and distributed three times faster at a quarter of the cost, the new system has already been used to provide food aid to 472,000 beneficiaries in the Central African Republic and Sudan also to 20,000 Burundian refugees in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
