Highlighting this year 2016: Stop Hunger's 20-YEAR COMMITMENT to end hunger in the world, highlighted by a surge in mobilization with a 74% increase in volunteers. Thanks to these 113,000 volunteers, 5.7 million meals were distributed and 4.6 million US dollars collected.

Among them, thousands of students on campuses in the United States and Brazil, clients, consumers and suppliers who were mobilized by Sodexo teams, our founding partner.

Stop Hunger’s mission is to help eliminate hunger in the world, focusing its actions in three areas:

- local aid to those most in need, supporting 875 local NGOs in 44 countries through food aid as well as, in particular, sustainable solutions that go Beyond Food Aid, which today represent 53% of Stop Hunger’s activities, such as the WFP (World Food Programme) school meals program, skills volunteering and training, women's empowerment, etc.

- support for social entrepreneurs, based on cooperation and transfer of know-how from Sodexo teams.

- emergency assistance via dedicated funds to contribute to the emergency operations of WFP, the world’s largest humanitarian agency in the global fight to end hunger and Stop Hunger’s partner.

Good to know: 1 / 5th of the world's children are fed through World Food Programme school meals programs. For girls from underprivileged backgrounds in developing countries, an additional year of primary education ultimately translates to 10 to 20% of additional salary. With a higher level of education of women, hunger could be decreased by 43% (source: WFP).
