From One Walk to a Global Movement

Thirty Years, Millions of Steps

Thirty years ago, on May 5, 1996, a small group of Sodexo employees in Boston joined the Walk for Hunger and took the first steps in what would become the Stop Hunger movement. What began as one local act of solidarity has grown into a global movement powered by thousands of volunteers across 65 countries, all united by one shared commitment: building a world without hunger.

To mark Stop Hungerโ€™s 30th anniversary, teams around the world laced up their shoes to honour the walk that started it all and celebrate the collective impact that followed. Discover how one walk inspired a global movement, and how those footsteps continue to create change today.
