Designing safer and more planet friendly kitchens for school children in Tanzania. We’re proud to share the latest milestone from our YEAH (Your Engagement Against Hunger) missions program at Stop Hunger!   From May 11–22, Gregory van de Put, a Sodexo kitchen design expert, joined forces with the World Food Programme (WFP) and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) in Tanzania to support a transformative initiative: transitioning school kitchens from traditional biomass cooking to clean, electric pressure cooking (EPCs).

Why this matters
-Over 90% of Tanzanians rely on inefficient cook stoves due to a lack of access, contributing to deforestation and severe health risks, especially for women and girls. The shift to EPCs in 50 public primary schools will reduce indoor air pollution, improve safety, and free up time for education and economic activities.
