According to the government, more than 500,000 hectares in the country’s center and south were ravaged by fires, equivalent to half of the island of Puerto Rico.
Nearly 6,000 residents were forced to flee their homes and more than 1,000 homes were destroyed by the flames. Our volunteers, employees of Sodexo, mobilized to offer
assistance to the NGO Desafio Levantemos Chile, as well as providing meals for firefighters, volunteers and emergency services teams in the Biobío region, south of the capital, Santiago.
